The draw for Champions League 2012-2013 was held in Monaco On Tuesday. After the 32 teams found their teams, UEFA then handed out award for the best player in season 2011-2012. Spain midfielder Andres Iniesta from Barcelona finally defeated Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo to be the winner of this award.

Although the Rossoblu's performance slips a little down compared with last season, ranking 2 for insuperable to old enemy Real Madrid in the league. And they even blocked in Semi-final in Champions League. But Andres Iniesta’s outstanding performance didn’t gloom for this. In the Euro 2012 this summer this midfielder contributed the superb presentation again, assisting Spain national team successfully defending Cup.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who gained 73 and 60 goals respectively last season were regarded as the favorites, but the two men only won 17 votes, lost to Andres Iniesta by 2 votes behind.

The last selection of best player, Messi defeated both Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona teammate Xavier Hernandez Creus, becoming the best one of UEFA. And Andres Iniesta won this title indicates that players from Barcelona have seized this title for two years.

Barcelona captain Carles Puyol congratulated Andres Iniesta immediately through Twitter after the result came out, “Congratulations, Andres Iniesta, you deserve this honor.”
