Christian Poulsen Quit the Denmark National Team
The 32-year-old former Denmark captain Christian Poulsen decided to retire from his international career position.
Christian Poulsen hasn't found his next club until now since he terminated the agreement with Évian Thonon Gaillard FC of French Ligue 1. After being selected as a national team player against Netherlands November 2001, he has participated in 92 games on behalf of Denmark.
I am happy and proud with my career in the national team, Christian Poulsen said in an official statement, I was only 22 when I appeared at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, and I can look back on many exciting matches and four major tournaments with the national team.
This decision is not for losing passion after ten years' service for nation, but for a large number of younger players appearing in the team and thus my importance to the national team is no longer the same as before.
Christian Poulsen's final game for nation is in Group B of Euro 2012, while they lost to Germany by 1-2 and were ruled out at that time. Christian Poulsen had ever played for FC Kobenhavn, FC Schalke 04, Sevilla FC, Juventus and Liverpool FC.
