Real Madrid and Spain national team defender Alvaro Arbeloa extends his contract with the Liga champions for two years, afterwards he will play for the Club till summer 2006. And he expressed this is hopefully not my last renewal.

The two-year contract has been renewed between Real Madrid and defender Alvaro Arbeloa. The back will play for the Club till summer 2006.

Alvaro Arbeloa, starting his second Real Madrid career in 2009, proved to all his competence as two wing backs and sometimes midfilder. Alvaro Arbeloa left Real Zaragoza's academy in 2001/02 and then joined Real Madrid. Before this arriving, the 29-year-old he had played for RC Deportivo La Coruña and Liverpool FC.

Besides winning La Liga last season while playing for Real Madrid, Arbeloa had contributed in UEFA European Championships last two terms and 2010 FIFA World Cup.

"This extension comes at a good time," he said. "Things are going well and I am proud to be here. It is hard to retire at this club because the demand is the greatest. Here there are always the best players in the world, but this is hopefully not my last renewal.

"I'm very comfortable here. Sometimes I play more and sometimes less, but Mourinho has managed to get the best out of me. I am very grateful."

Real Madrid will involve in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
