Serie A champions officially declared the contract signed between Juventus and the former Brazil centre-back Lúcio, and the contract is valid for 2 years.

The 34-year-old Lúcio now has concluded a contract with Juventus who began to wantonly recruit players on the transfer market this summer since the club won the Scudetto last season. And before that, the club has already returned Sebastian Giovinco from Parama FC, signed young goalkeeper Nicola Leali from Brescia Calcio and Udinese Calcio duo Mauricio Isla and Kwadwo Asamoah who were just finishing their transfer yesterday.

Lúcio's signing will add more experience to Juventus's back that has robust defense. Last season, they only conceded 20 league goals. Lúcio had ever helped Brazil national team won World Cup champions in 2002. And in recent three seasons, he was playing for Inter Milan who then achieved treble-winning in 2010 and Lúcio was one of the key players. Previously he spent 8 seasons in Germany giant Bayern Munich, assisting the team winning the German double three times. In 2002 he also reached the 2002 UEFA Champions League final with Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

In this new season, Juventus will directly play a role in group games of UEFA Champions League.
