Real Madrid is now 8 points behind Barca in the league standings, the midfielder Sami Khedira also admits that to catch up leader Barcelona is difficult, but he believes that Real Madrid will not give up. Suffering the downturn in the league in the new season’s La Liga champions, Real Madrid still exists eight point gap between top Barcelona, Khedira thinks it’s indeed difficult to make up the gap.

"Of course, it is difficult with a team as strong as Barcelona and with the difference in points between us and them," Khedira stated.

"We do not have our destiny in our own hands and it is not a good feeling to have to wait for them to make fault. But we will give it our best. If we can win our games and show some consistency in doing so , then I am sure that something good will happen." He added.

Khedira thought that the team was supposed to get three points in the 2-2 draw with Barcelona of the national derby last weekend. "We would have liked to win. The development of the game was very positive for us, so we were upset at not being able to defeat them," said Khedira.

After Real Madrid’s Michael Essien signing this summer, Sami Khedira spends more time on the bench.Tthough he is set aside from the main force, Khedira still believes that he is an important figure in Real Madrid team.

"Up to now, I have been lucky. I have been chosen to play in almost all the important matches. Mourinho knows what he does and what he has in me. This is my third year at Real, and when I've been fit I've almost always played," Khedira explained.

AS for the upcoming Champions League between Real Madrid and the Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund, Khedira states that "The evolution of Borussia is phenomenal. Marco Reus, Mario Gotze and Marcel Schmelzer are all fantastic players. Now they are one of the big teams, we know that."
